When he came to his senses, he said... “I will set out and go back to my father”... But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. –Luke 15:17-20
In the parable of the Prodigal Son, the son essentially declares to his father, “You’re dead to me!” After failures humble the son, he realizes, that he can still go home. The father accepts the lost son with open arms, and God is still doing that for His children today. Whenever we come to our senses and return home, He is waiting for us with arms open wide, running to greet us. Let the Father run to you and hold you tight today.
